Maps

Any page, notice, event or place can carry a map: where it is, the route it takes, or the area it concerns.

• Pages and notices have a Map field for pins, lines and areas.
• Events and places have a Location, one pin, and a Route or area for lines and areas.

Drawing

1. Find the place with Find an address or place…, then Search, or pan and zoom to it.
2. Pick a tool: Draw a pin, Draw a line or Draw an area.
3. Press the map for each point. A line takes two points or more, an area four or more.
4. Press Finish shape.

Delete shape removes the selected one. Go to my location centres the map on you. An item holds up to 200 shapes.

What visitors see

A published item with a pin or a shape shows a map on its page. Visitors pan and zoom it, and press a shape for its name.

Every published item with a location also appears on the site's community map at /map, with no extra step. See Community map.
