Printouts
A printout is a page you design for one kind of record: a work order, a charge, an asset, a service request. Wherever you print that kind of record, Aptli offers its printouts.
Admin › Printouts lists every printout, with the kind of record it prints, its paper and whether it is in use.
Every kind starts with a default
Each kind of record that prints comes with a Default printout. Its records print on it until you design another. Edit the default to change it. Reset default puts it back as it came, and a default has no Delete.
Designing a printout
New printout opens the designer.
- Name the printout.
- Prints names the kind of record it prints.
- Paper sets the page size: letter, A4, or an 80 mm or 4-inch receipt roll.
The page has three bands. Page header repeats at the top of every page, Body holds the record, and Page footer repeats at the bottom of every page.
Each band holds rows. Add row adds one, and each row takes up to four Columns. A row's settings set its Background, its Text size, Bold and a Rule underneath. Drag a row by its handle to move it.
Each cell holds one thing:
- Logo: your organization's logo;
- Label: text you type;
- Field: a value from the record, or from a form filled in on it. Pick a field lists both. Type any property name to use it, and it prints when the record carries a property by that name;
- Empty: space.
A field prints when the record carries it.
Save writes the printout. Changing the layout starts a new version, and the printout's row lists its versions.
A printout marked Markdown body is written as text with fields in it, and prints straight to PDF.
Printing
- One record: its ⋯ › Print.
- Many records: tick them on a list page, then open Actions on selected and choose Print from the arrow on its first button.
The panel names how many records print and offers the printouts for each kind among them, with the default first. Print opens the pages in a new browser tab, ready to print or save as PDF.
Finding printouts
Search by name finds a printout. Filters narrows by Record type, Page format and In use, and shows deleted printouts.
