Getting started

Aptli CMS is where your staff write and publish your organization's website: its pages, news, notices, events and places, in every language the site offers. Staff work in the admin workspace at /admin on your website's own address. Visitors see the published site.

  • Your account: signing in, the authenticator app, recovery codes, a forgotten password and signing out.

The admin workspace

After you sign in, the Content page opens. It holds one card per kind of content your site uses, such as Pages, Blog posts, Notices, Events, Places and Service links. Each card counts what is published, what is a draft and what waits for review. An editor limited to some kinds of content sees only those cards.

The sidebar has two groups.

  • Content lists each kind of content. Press one to see its list and open an item in the editor.
  • Site settings holds the screens that shape the whole site: navigation, the homepage, branding, redirects, subscribers, analytics, the hub connection and more. Administrators see all of them. Editors see Media and Contact inbox.

Each entry in Site settings carries a coloured dot. Green means nothing needs attention, amber means something is worth a look, red means something is broken, and grey means there is nothing there yet.

The sidebar's foot holds View site, Report an issue, Sign out and the admin's language.

Changes go live when you save

A published item changes on the public site the moment you save it. A visitor who already has the page open sees the change on their next load. A site that asks for approval holds an editor's changes for an administrator first: see Revisions and approval.
