Pages

A page is a standing part of your website: Council, Waste and recycling, Parks, Contact information. Pages nest under one another, and the site's main menu is built from them.

Creating a page

  1. Open Pages in the sidebar and press New.
  2. Give it a Web address, such as waste-collection. A sub-page's address holds slashes, such as services/water.
  3. Fill in the Title and the Body.
  4. Add what the page needs: Page sections, a Map, Images & documents, and a Search & share description.
  5. Set its place in the menu, below.
  6. Set Status to Published and press Create.

The page appears at your site's address followed by its own, such as /waste-collection.

Nesting and the menu

  • Parent page places this page under another, or at None (top level). The list shows every page, indented. A page stays out of its own sub-pages.
  • Show in navigation puts the page in the main menu.
  • Nav order orders it among the pages beside it.

A top-level page in the menu is one of its headings, and the pages under it open from it. To arrange many pages at once, an administrator uses Navigation.

What visitors see

A published page shows its sections across the top, then its body, its images and documents, and its map, with the pages around it in a side menu. A page set to Signed-in visitors only shows its title and asks the visitor to sign in. See Publishing.
