Media

Media is every image and document on your website. The Media library holds them all. You upload a file once and use it wherever it is needed.

What you can upload

  • Images: JPEG, PNG and WebP, up to 10 MB each.
  • Documents: PDF, up to 100 MB each.

An administrator with core settings access changes both limits under Settings. A video is embedded by its link in the body: see Rich text.

Uploading

Upload from three places:

  • Upload in the Media library, several files at once;
  • the Add tile under Images & documents in the editor;
  • Insert image or attachment in the body.

Every image opens in the crop and rotate window first. Drag to crop, use Rotate left and Rotate right, or move and resize the crop with the keyboard, then press Use image.

The site turns each photo the right way up and removes the camera's details from it, such as the place it was taken.

Describing an image

A description tells a visitor using a screen reader what the image shows. Write one in each language:

  • in the editor, under Describe the image, beside each image attached to an item, saved as you leave the box;
  • in the library, under Alt text, on the image's row.

Documents

Each document gets its own address, /documents/ followed by a name taken from its file, such as /documents/2026-budget. Share and print that address. Change it in the library under Web address, and Copy address copies it.

The library

The Media library lists every file, with Search, the Type (images or documents) and the Category.

For each file, set its Title, its description, its address and its Category, then press Save on its row. The categories are General, By-laws, Agendas & minutes, Budgets & finance, Reports & studies, Forms & applications, Maps & plans and Notices.

Removing a file

Press and hold the bin on the file's row. A file still in use stays, and the row lists where it is used, with links: In use in 2 place(s). Open each one and remove the file there first. Remove it from each, then delete it.

Who sees a file

A visitor opens a file once a published item, the homepage or your site identity uses it. A file attached only to a draft stays private until the draft is published. Every staff member sees every file.
