Site identity

Site identity holds your organization's name, its marks and colours, and its contact details. A field left empty uses the value your site shipped with, shown as grey placeholder text. Changes go live as soon as you press Save identity.

The fields

GroupFields
Name and taglineThe organization's name and tagline, in each language.
Logos and iconsThe logo for light backgrounds and for dark, the admin's logo, and the browser tab icon.
Brand coloursThe primary and accent colours.
Contact detailsStreet address, town and postal code, main phone, public contact email and office hours.
After-hours emergencyA label and a number for after-hours calls.
Footer and timeThe footer's copyright line, and the time zone.

Fields a visitor reads, such as the name and the address, have one box per language.

Where they appear

  • The name in the browser tab, the header, the footer and the RSS feed.
  • The tagline under the name in the header.
  • The address, phone and after-hours number in the header's top bar. A phone number opens the phone's dialer.
  • The street address, town and postal code, main phone and office hours in the footer, on the Contact Us page and on the Accessibility Statement.
  • The public contact email on the Contact Us page.
  • The light-background logo in the header, the dark-background logo in the footer, and the admin logo in the admin.
  • The tab icon in the visitor's browser tab.
  • The copyright line at the foot of every page.
  • The brand colours across the site's buttons, links and highlights.
  • The time zone for every event's dates and times, such as America/Toronto.

Logos and icons

Press a logo field to choose an image from Media, or upload one there first. See Media.

Brand colours

Pick a colour or type its hex code, such as #1e3a5f. The screen shows its contrast against white as you choose. A colour needs a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1. White text on it stays readable. The screen accepts nothing lighter.

Checking before you save

Save identity waits while a field is marked: an email address that is not an address, a phone number with letters out of place, or text past its length. Fix the marked fields and save.

Clearing a field returns it to the value your site shipped with.

Who does what

Only administrators change site identity.
