Search

The search box in the website's header searches the published site. A visitor types a few words and presses Enter. The Search page lists the results, ten to a page.

What it finds

  • Published pages, posts, notices, events and places.
  • Content shown only to signed-in visitors, for a signed-in visitor.
  • PDF documents a published item links to, by their file name or description. These show on the first page of results, under Documents, and open in a new tab.

Each result carries its kind, such as Page, Notice or Event.

How results are ranked

A word in the title counts most, a word in a page section next, and a word in the body after that. For the best results, give each item a title in the words residents use.

A search with no match reads No results found. Try different words.

Searches in Analytics

Every search counts toward its words' totals, and a search with no results counts separately. Analytics shows both:

  • Top searches: what residents search for most.
  • Searches with no results: what they looked for and did not find, a ready list of pages to write.

The counts keep the words only, with no date or visitor. See Analytics.
