AI answers
An Ask AI (Q&A) section puts a question box on a page. A resident types a question and gets an answer drawn from your website's published content, with links to the pages it came from. Your Aptli hub's AI writes the answer. The website holds no AI account of its own.
Switching it on
- In Aptli, open the portal's settings and switch on Allow AI content answers.
- In the CMS, add an Ask AI (Q&A) section to a page and choose that portal under Choose an AI-enabled portal. See Hub sections.
The section shows Ask a question and Get an answer sourced from this site's own published content. You can replace both with your own title and blurb.
What the resident does
- Type a question, up to 500 characters, under Type your question…
- Press Ask.
The answer appears under the box, with links to the pages it drew on.
Where the answer comes from
The website searches its own published pages, posts, notices, events and places, in the visitor's language. It sends the best five matches to the hub, and the hub's AI writes the answer from those alone.
- Content shown only to signed-in visitors is searched only for a signed-in visitor.
- When nothing on the website matches, the resident reads We couldn't find an answer to that on this site. Try the contact form instead. No AI call is made.
Limits
- Ten questions from one address in fifteen minutes. The next one reads Too many questions right now.
- The hub's own AI allowance for the month. Once it is used up, the box reads This question feature isn't available right now.
- An answer the hub has not returned within 20 seconds reads Something went wrong answering that.
A summary for a post
The post editor's Summary field has a Suggest summary button. It sends the post's title and text to the hub, and puts the hub's suggested summary in the field. Nothing is saved until you press Save. Edit the suggestion first if it needs it.
The button works once a hub portal has Allow AI content answers on. Write the post's text first: the button summarizes what is there.
