Getting started

Aptli keeps your organization's records in one place: the map, your assets, the work on them, the requests the public sends you, and what people owe. Each page holds one area. Every record opens in a window with the same controls, wherever you find it.

The menu

☰ at the top left opens the menu. It lists only the pages your organization has and your rights open.

  • Home, then Map.
  • The pages for daily work, such as Assets and inventory, Charges, Permits and Service portal.
  • Help requests.
  • Admin: Users, Contacts, Forms, Printouts, Automations, Application settings, System health and Audit history.
  • More: the user guide, Start tour and the switch that turns tours on and off, Submit issue, installing the app on this device, the phone view and Refresh app data.
  • The language and the colour theme.
  • Your name, to open My profile, and Log out.

The logo at the top of the menu takes you Home.

The page title and ⓘ

The page's name sits beside the menu button. The ⓘ beside it opens a panel that explains the page: what it is for, the words it uses and where its controls are.

Search in the header finds any record, place or page you can see. Ctrl+K, or ⌘K on a Mac, opens it from anywhere. Type two or more characters and press Enter.

Results group by kind:

  • Records, one group per kind, open the record.
  • Map features select the feature on the map. Select all on the map selects every match.
  • Addresses and places move the map to that place.
  • Pages take you to a page whose name matches.
  • Ask AI hands the term to the assistant.

More search options narrows the search by scope, feature type and the current map view. On a list page, Filter this page applies the term to the list in front of you.

The assistant

The assistant's button sits beside search when your organization has turned it on. The assistant reads the page in front of you. Ask it about the records on screen, ask it to fill in the form you have open, or ask it to take you to a page.

The bell

The bell opens two lists.

  • Notifications: assignments, replies and alerts, newest first. View opens the record a notification is about. Clear all empties the list. Mute alerts keeps messages in the list without popping them up on screen. Errors still pop up.
  • Yours to act on: a count per area, such as Approvals, Work, Materials, Service requests and Charges. A row opens its page, filtered to what waits on you. Urgent items show in red, and Approvals opens in place so you can decide each change from the bell.

My profile sets which notifications reach you by email, text or push.

Messages on the page

A banner across the top of the page tells you about the whole application:

  • your organization's licence nears its end;
  • an administrator changed your rights, with Apply to load them now;
  • your phone number is unverified, where sign-in or text messages need it.

Tours

Every page has a tour that points at its controls. It starts by itself the first time you open the page. More › Start tour plays it again, and the switch beside it turns tours off or back on.
