Fall 2026 Changelog: One Tree for the Work, Enforcement Cases and a Portal That Listens
What shipped since midsummer: projects and work in one tree, assets and inventory on one page, investigations and charges with their documents, sensor readings driving automations, Power BI reporting and a service portal that picks the form from a spoken description.
The Short Version
Here is what shipped since midsummer.
- Projects, jobs, work orders, reports and validations open in one tree.
- Assets, sites and stock share one page, with condition, capital forecasts and Power BI templates.
- Investigations carry a case from open to closed, and charges print their notices and enforcement documents.
- Sensor readings drive automations, and an alarm opens a ticket in another system and closes when it does.
- Speak a problem out loud, and the service portal picks the form and the area.
- Roles read as plain sentences, and a tag scopes a team to its own records.
- Map versions go to an approver, and a committed version can be restored.
- Guided tours walk each page, and the guides are rewritten in English, French, Spanish and Chinese.
All the Work in One Tree
Projects and work now opens as a single tree. A project holds its jobs, a job holds its work orders, and each work order holds its reports and validations. Open any record, and it opens in place with the path above it. Edit several records in the window and save them together.
A row's menu adds the next level down, links an existing record or moves a record to another parent. Set a reminder on a record from its row. Response-time rules show the clocks running on each record, and a record's rules sit beside it.
Assets and Inventory on One Page
Sites, crew baskets, assets and their stock share one list. An asset carries its category, condition, install date, useful life, replacement cost and criticality. Record a condition assessment, a service or a meter reading, and the asset's history grows with it. Plan interventions by year, and the capital forecast looks ten years ahead.
A work order's material lines hold stock at a site until the crew collects it. A crew member builds one trip across sites, and the counter hands it over with one scan.
Investigations and Charges
An investigation moves from open to assigned to findings recorded to closed, with one person accountable throughout. The subject, the location and every charge tied to the case sit on the same record.
A charge prints its notice, and a warning notice, a compliance order, a letter or court documentation from the same record. A receipt prints on a handheld printer's roll paper. A reprint carries its own number and points back to the original. Administrators write the wording for each document, choose the fields it merges, preview it and publish it.
Sensor Readings That Act
Readings arrive on a schedule or straight from the device, and automations act on them. When a reading crosses a threshold, an alarm opens a ticket in an external system. Close the ticket there, and the alarm closes in Aptli.
Other systems send work requests in as well. A request from a CRM, 311 line or permitting system becomes a work order, and a second request for the same issue updates it.
Reporting to Power BI
Projects and work and the asset register each hand you a Power BI template beside Excel, CSV and a letterhead PDF. Open the template, add an API key and refresh. The asset templates cover the register, a rollup by category, the ten-year forecast and condition history. Scheduled exports deliver Excel and XML files as well.
A Portal That Listens
Describe a problem out loud, and the portal picks the form and fills it with a cleaned-up version of what was said. Where the form is tied to a boundary layer, the portal also names the neighbourhood or service area the location falls in.
People signed in to the portal save a report and finish it later, add to a report they already sent and read replies in their own language, with the original a tap away. Video uploads sit beside photos. A saved reply can answer a form automatically.
The portal installs on WordPress and Drupal sites under your own domain. Its published data is available as a keyed JSON or GeoJSON feed for any other site or system.
Roles You Can Read
A role's restrictions now read as sentences: Members of the Field Technician role can do everything except edit Work Order records where status is completed. To give a team authority over its own area, tag the area's records and scope the team's role to that tag.
A one-click security check lists accounts, roles, guest links and API keys worth a second look.
Versions with an Approver
Map edits collect in a working version. Send the version for approval, and an approver commits it or sends it back with a note. A committed version can be restored, and the restore goes through approval like any other change.
Audit, Retention and Backups
The audit history filters by person, action, record type and record name, and exports to CSV, Excel and JSON. Administrators set how long each kind of deleted record is kept, and the destruction log lists every record removed for good.
Self-hosted deployments keep encrypted database backups and restore to a chosen point in time.
Transfers as Offers
Moving stock to another person runs as an offer. The recipient accepts or declines it, and the sender can cancel it before it lands. A facilitated pickup captures a signature on the spot.
On the Phone
The bottom bar holds the pages you star, and More lists every page. Phone lists swipe, scan and select in bulk, and a record opens in the same window it opens in on a computer.
Tours and Guides
Pages across the app carry a guided tour that starts the first time you open them, and More restarts any tour. The user guide is rewritten for the current product, in English, French, Spanish and Chinese.
Around the App
A record opens as a floating window over its list. One menu holds every map highlight and overlay. One search bar reaches records, pages and settings from anywhere.
